5 stars: “The Ravenstone is a beautiful, creative, well-written story that swept me away to another place in time. I fell in love with the characters and my mind lingered on their journies. I loved that this light read still has the power to bring tears to my eyes, all the while engrossing me in the story and enriching my life. Simply put i loved The Ravenstone. It will satisfy and entertain you.” ~ Amazon

5 stars: “Simply put, I loved this book. Hated to put it down and didn’t want it to end. I loved the main characters—both of them. They were fully fleshed out and worthy of caring. I most definitely want another adventure. Please?”  ~ Laurie Seymour, Amazon review

5 stars: “I really, really enjoyed the book! Definitely one of the best fantasy/sci – fi books I’ve read by far. The authors have taken an amazing concept, and made it even better! I loved the characters, especially Conall, (his backstory and personality were great). It’s an amazing read, and I can see it being a massive hit in schools, and with children generally, particularly ages 9 – 12.

The descriptions and sketches throughout were very nice, and the amount of detail – not too much, not too little – make it a really enjoyable read.

I loved how I could relate to Nadia and Aidan, and I felt as though I connected with them, so I felt really engrossed in the book.”   ~ E Carroll Amazon review

5 stars: “Solomon and Carey’s imaginative storytelling sweeps you into a fascinating tale of mystery and adventure. Young twins stumble upon an ancient power that could help their family in the future, or trap them in the past forever.” ~ Linda Zimmermann, successful author of thirty books about the paranormal and mysterious stone sites.

5 stars: “I gave the book to my 12-year-old grandson. When he finished reading, he proclaimed, “This book is better than Harry Potter!” We both hope Nadia and Aidan have another adventure!”  ~ Cheryl P, Amazon review

5 stars: “The main characters, 13-year-old twins, are honorable and courageous, and the reader really cares about them and roots for them. My grandson, who is 12, loved it, and asked it there will be another book with Nadia and Aidan.”  ~ W. Lovett,  Amazon review

5 stars: ” I loved this book! Although it’s written for middle-school aged children, I read it as an adult and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s full of intrigue, mystery and fun. I will be reading this to my grandchildren and I know they’ll love it as much as I did. Can’t wait for the next volume.”   ~ ck, Amazon review

BACK COVER TEXT:

The Ravenstone: The Secret of Ninham Mountain

“You were born to this path! This quest is your fate.”

Imagine a raven appearing out of thin air and guiding you to an exquisitely carved icon that glows with ancient light and pulses with shamanic power.

This is how the adventure begins for Nadia and Aidan Shaw, thirteen-year-old twins, who live in idyllic Cold Spring, New York, on the banks of the Hudson River. Armed with the power of the Ravenstone and their own special gifts, they embark on a harrowing quest across centuries, at the bidding of a mysterious old shaman. They must depend on their courage, their faith in their friends, and luck. Or is it destiny?

If they succeed, what they bring back could change the course of human existence.

Mark and I have just finished our first novel together: The Ravenstone, The Secret of Ninham Mountain. It has gone off to our first readers, and then it will get a final edit and proofing. And a lovely design for the book cover! We are excited. It has been more fun than I can describe, to write with my brilliant, articulate, eloquent, creative husband Mark. (Mark M. Carey) Not to give the plot away, but it is a middle grade-young adult fantasy novel… full of adventure, and some honor and glory! Aiming for publishing date of Sept 30.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Imagine an intricately carved black stone icon with matching raven heads on either end. Twins can use the stone, the Ravenstone, to travel through time.

Nadia and Aidan are 13-year-old twins who live in beautiful Cold Spring, New York. When they find the Ravenstone, they are given the chance, a dangerous chance, to use it to save their father. And to bring powerful healing to humankind.

How do they engineer this adventure. Can they survive the perils they will face?
